First Steps provides regular visits by a trained home visitor to support the nurturing relationship between you and your baby/child. The program focuses on understanding and responding to your baby’s/child’s needs to encourage their growth, development and well-being.  Your home visitor can also connect you to any community resources/support systems that are available for families. FS sees families prenatal to three years of age.

ROAMS is pleased to provide pre and postnatal health care resources to women living in Colfax, Harding, Mora, Taos and Union counties. ROAMS Family Navigators are here to help you gain access to free services, access benefits, lactation support, & telehealth. Their support is completely free and they can help you understand what options that are available to pregnant women and new mothers. Family Navigators work closely with many of the health care providers in your area and they will know all about free support options that you can take advantage of.

 

WIC (Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC))

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children – better known as the WIC Program – serves to safeguard the health of low-income pregnant, postpartum, and nursing (breastfeeding) women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating including nursing (breastfeeding) promotion and support, and referrals to health care.

The New Mexico WIC Program provides free healthy foods, ideas for healthy eating and maintaining good health habits, support for nursing families, and connects families with other community services. This combination of services is designed to create a support system that encourages families to feel confident in their own ability to maintain happy and healthy futures

Tiwa Babies Home Visiting

Tiwa Babies Home Visiting offers no-cost, strength-based, and culturally appropriate services for prenatal families, and families with children 0-5 living in Taos County.  We partner with parents and work together in the convenience of your home or other locations in the community to reflect and connect on any parenting topics.


YDI Pregnant women’s program

YDI’s Pregnant Women’s Program provides extra support to women during pregnancy, with a focus on healthy pregnancy and delivery. YDI offers free services to eligible pregnant women in Bernalillo and Taos Counties, to the first time and all expectant women- every pregnancy is different, and we’re here to provide support for the health and wellness of you and your baby.

In the program you will learn what to expect during each month of your pregnancy, find resources to meet your family’s needs, meet your personal goals for school and work, and be able to enroll your child into our Early Head Start program.
